Facelift starts with incisions made along the hairline, by the ear, on the chin, or along the earlobe. Next, excess skin is lifted and removed. The remaining skin is then made smooth, tightened, and secured with sutures or small metal clips. Side effects may include swelling, numbness, bruising, and tightness, but most patients report little pain and only minor discomfort.
